We highlight autumn breaks at home and abroad that should appeal to children and adults alike
We may have had one of the warmest summers in living memory, but by the end
of October memories of those hazy days will be fading as fast as the daylight.
This is the time to swap grey autumnal drizzle for the scent of roses and pines,
breakfast on a sunny balcony, tinkling fountains, the splash of swimming pools
and waves breaking across hot sand.
Norfolk campsite
Hardy types might consider trying the campsite at Deepdale Farm on the north
Norfolk coast (01485 210256,
www.deepdalefarm.co.uk). The site's 18-foot tepees each sleep six
adult-sized people. Prices from £195 per tent for a minimum four-night stay;
bedding is extra and there is a cafe. Deepdale Farm staff can suggest and book
activities (and alternative accommodation) in the area: boat hire will still be
available at nearby Brancaster and the Maritime Festival is on around Kings
Lynn, October 25- 29 (www.maritimefestival.com).
