The North Norfolk Coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty with
beautiful panoramic views, gentle rolling hills, and stunning beaches. Where
better to relax and let the muse take you where it will. Our carefully designed writers
workshops are there for you to participate in or not, similarly with our writers read
and critique sessions.

10.00 – 12.00 Workshop on beginnings and endings.
Exercises and discussion forum regarding the way we look at starting pieces of work and methods to gain and hold a reader’s attention.
The concept of ‘Show, Don’t tell.’ Fulfilling the implicit promise made to the reader at the beginning of the piece.
12.00 There will also be a chance to read and critique work.
By reading your work out loud it gives us a chance as writers to hear our own words and measure their impact on an audience. It also gives us a chance to receive honest feedback about the standard of the work and put forward any ideas for improvement that may become apparent.
15.00 - Trip out to the marsh (weather permitting).
Evening meal at a local eatery (optional)

AM - Private writing time, and 1 to 1 meetings for discussion and coaching.
Here I will give feedback and suggest exercises and techniques that may help to improve your writing skills.
13.00 - Workshop with a guided writing exercise to help develop descriptive content a creating a sense of time and place.
Then a short trip into the editing process. Writing is all about re-writing your work. How to decide what to keep and what not to keep!
16.00 – A final Read and Critique session.
Sunday night Spud Night for those who wish to stay.
Price includes:
- 2 nights in Dorm accommodation. (upgrades to private rooms may be possible
depending on availability and an additional cost, please enquire for details.)
- 2 days continental style breakfast. Cereals, toast, preserves, tea and coffee.
- Warm buffet Friday night, ready for your arrival.
- Personal coaching and access to all the workshops and seminars you wish to
attend.
- Guidance for those who wish to find outlets for their work.
For anyone travelling on public transport we can arrange to have Bus passes
sent to you for £15 that entitles you to 3 days unlimited travel on the coast
hopper buses between Kings Lynn and Cromer. Perfect if you wish to explore more!
Please note, if you wish to work on a laptop or computer, please bring your
own, however printing and photocopying is easily available.
